My Dad was a butcher that would carve up deer that police buddies hunted


His police department buddies would hunt deer in season and bring the kills to Dad's butcher shop to be processed.

Every time he did this we'd have venison for dinner a few times. Good eating.

Still have cousins in eastern North Carolina that raise beef cattle.
